Are you emotionally literate? Can you listen without judgement and guide a young person’s mind through challenging times? Are you able to use creative media to unlock a troubled child? If so, you may just be the right person for our school.

With the growing demands for wellbeing support in our school, we are seeking to appoint a school based counsellor. This role is full time and paid on the Kent Range scale up to KR5, depending on experience.

 You will:

  • Hold a relevant counselling qualification in child counselling
  • Have at least two years’ experience working 1:1 with children who need additional support
  • Be able to evidence an up to date knowledge of research into the wellbeing and mental health of young people
  • Be able to create a nurturing environment and safe space for children to express and explore their feelings
  • Be able to show an astute awareness of confidentiality and safeguarding
