We are looking for a teacher for either a  2 or 3 day job share for upper KS2.  This post is fixed term covering maternity leave until August 31st 2018 when the position will be reviewed - there is a strong possibility of renew from September 2018.   

The class is full of delightful children and you will have support from highly trained Teaching Assistants and a school team who are are willing to help and assist you.

We are looking for candidates, who:

  • have a proven track record of good/outstanding teaching and accelerating learning.  Year 6 experience an advantage.
  • has excellent subject knowledge in reading, writing and maths
  • knows how to assess and support children of all abilities to ensure good progress
  • works well as part of a team
  • is able to work effectively with a year group colleague and job share

Information about the school

Bishops Down Primary and Nursery School is an inclusive, non-denominational school working in partnership with the Tunbridge Wells Primary Schools Collaborative Trust. The school was built in 1967 and is situated on the western edge of Tunbridge Wells in a leafy and pleasant residential area.

The school site is beautiful, elevated and fringed with green playing fields and woods. A fragrant quiet garden, pond and wooden structures in the grounds offer opportunities for happy playtimes.

We have just under 230 pupils in the primary and nursery classes. We also have a designation for children with physical disabilities and complex medical needs who are all included in mainstream.

We run Wrap Around Care at the beginning of the day and after school for our school and nursery children and during the holidays we run a Holiday Club for all children in the community.
