Intensive Support Worker

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join St Augustine Academy as an Intensive Support Worker.

We are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Intensive Support Worker, who will help develop a new inclusion provision within the Academy. You will be based in our inclusion centre; the aim of the role is to provide pastoral support for a small number of youngsters with complex behavioural difficulties, helping these pupils to develop their academic, social and emotional skills. This may involve working with small groups and/or helping pupils in and out of the classroom. You will ensure  pupils follow their bespoke programmes of study. You will need to make considerable use of effective communication and counciliatory skills including the use of restorative practices with pupils, staff and families. You will need to be experienced at managing difficult conversations, meetings and diffusing challenging behaviour. Applicants will need to integrate within our friendly Academy team as well as needing excellent communication skills to develop a good relationship with students and staff.

 

Pay Spine: WAT Band E £20,035-£21,377 (FTE £23,398-£24,964)*

This is a Full-time post, Term time only plus Inset Days,  37  hours per week.  (Working 8am – 4pm, Monday – Thursday  and  8am – 3.30pm on a Friday). *Salary subject to a Pay and Grading Review.
