Foreland Fields School is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic creative and committed teacher to join the Infant department to cover Maternity Leave from April 2018 for up to a year.   

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for working with children with SEND.  Candidates must be able to use their own initiative and be committed to working as part of an established and highly motivated team to provide stimulating and interesting learning opportunities for pupils with a range of profound, severe and complex learning needs.

 Applications are welcome from teachers who may already be working in a Special School and from those currently working in a mainstream Primary or Secondary School who are looking to make the move into a Special School.  

The ability to work with other disciplines and to direct a small team of teaching assistants is required.

Information about the school

Foreland Fields School is a Day Special School for pupils with Profound, Severe and Complex Needs (PSCN), many of whom also have Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

We provide for 200+ pupils aged 3-19 in five departments, Nursery, Infants, Juniors (KS2) Secondary (KS3) and KS4/6th Form. In addition, we have satellite classes at Garlinge Primary School, Hartsdown Academy and East Kent College.
