After School Club Supervisor Horizon Primary Academy

We are looking to recruit 2 After School Club Supervisors. Hours will be 2:45pm to 5:30pm Monday to Thursday and 2:30pm to 5:30pm on Friday 14 hours per week (Term Time only).  If you have primary aged children of your own they are more than welcome to attend the club for free.  We now also need a Breakfast Club Supervisor.  Hours will be 7:45am to 8:45am Monday to Friday (Term Time only).

Main duties will include: 1) Planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment. 2) Providing comprehensive care for the children including collecting them from class and delivering them safely to parents/carers. 3) Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met. 4) Administering first aid when necessary. 5) Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities. 6) Providing support and supervision to play workers and other staff, including volunteers. 7) Administration and record keeping, including financial records, ordering and purchasing, working within an agreed budget. 8) Encouraging parental involvement in the club. 9) Developing and maintaining good communication with all members of the organisation, parents, schools, and childcare and play related agencies. 10) Undertaking appropriate and relevant training. 11) Monitoring and maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment. 12) Working within the framework of the club’s policies and procedures.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience of working with 4 to 11 year olds • Experience of administration • Experience of working in a supervisory or management capacity • Delivering equal opportunities in a play setting • Awareness of needs of children and families • Appropriate Level 3 qualification or be working towards this • Current First Aid Certificate • Appropriate child protection training • Food Hygiene Certificate • Ability to provide and facilitate safe and creative play • Ability to work as a team member and demonstrate leadership skills • Good communication skills • Ability to work on own initiative, using judgement and common sense
