Advert

Would you like the opportunity to join our ‘Family Team’ making a real difference to pupil’s lives?

We are looking to appoint a new FLO to support our very special school community in order to allow our pupils to achieve their full potential participating fully in home and school activities.

Are you ‘up for the challenge?’

Ideally, you are a candidate with some experience of working with pupils experiencing health, social emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Additionally the role is to promote good attendance of pupils at school to enable them to learn effectively, to work with families, accessing resources, to help increase their involvement in their education and welfare of their children and to provide pastoral care to pupils to ensure their health and safety within the school.

This post is to work as an integral member of the team, creating a safe, constructive and stimulating multi-cultural environment for the children and parents of our community.

To fulfil this role you should have a good standard of literacy and numeracy, qualified to NVQII in a child or health related subject and to hold a current first aid certificate would be desirable. In addition you should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to develop positive, sensitive relationships with children, parents and other members of the community.

Some outreach work will be required so a driver’s license and use of a car is vital.

Most essential however is to have a caring approach and non-judgemental attitude. Additional qualities are a sense of humour and excellent organisational skills!

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure Barring Service.

Information about the school

At St. George's Church of England Primary School we value each pupil as an individual and ensure that they reach their full potential by 'Letting their light shine' (Matthew 5:16) through our Christian Values of Respect, Honesty, Courage, Kindness, Forgiveness and Hope. By Bringing Faith and Education Together; we aspire for all our children to become confident, secure, caring individuals who achieve personal success and develop a love of learning. They are supported to develop morally, spiritually, socially, culturally and academically.

We are very proud of our warm and welcoming school with its friendly, caring atmosphere; enthusiastic children; experienced and dedicated staff and supportive parents and governors. We have high expectations of the children's achievements and behaviour and the children have high expectations of themselves.

The school does extremely well in providing support and encouragement for our most vulnerable children. Children feel safe and well cared for and are positive and happy to be here. We are lucky to have extensive grounds allowing opportunities for creative and engaging lessons to be planned.

In December 2022 Ofsted described the school as a Good school; where staff feel motivated and valued. They love working in the school and speak highly of the support and professional development leaders provide. Parents and carers also greatly value the school. The comment of one parent that ‘My child is very fortunate to be part of this wonderful school,’ was typical of the views of many parents who submitted comments during the inspection survey.

St George's (VC) CE Primary school is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
