Greatstone Primary School has an exciting opportunity for a skilled, highly motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to give 1 to 1 support to a pupil in KS2 (Year 5) commencing January 2018. The post offered is a part time (22 hours per week) fixed term contract (as the funding is reapplied for annually) term-time only.

Recent experience as a Teaching Assistant, in particular the planning and delivering of individual and group interventions, as well as a good understanding of emotional disorders is essential, as is your ability to build relationships, have a positive outlook and a willingness to try different approaches. You will be supported by the SENCO and Class Teacher to facilitate high quality independent learning and help this pupil achieve their best.

Information about the school

Greatstone Primary School is a Foundation School with ten classes and approximately 250 children. We also have a 40 place Nursery on site. We are a well maintained rural school set in large open grounds close to the sandy beaches of the south east coast and the unique landscape and nature reserve at Dungeness. The school has good access by road and is about 30 minutes drive from both Ashford and Folkestone.

The School and Nursery have a very good reputation within the local area and is renowned for the excellent behaviour of its children and the high expectations of its staff. We have a reputation for delivering a high standard of education in a friendly, happy and supportive environment. The school was rated Good in its last OFSTED inspection carried out during May 2022.
