Teaching Assistant Vacancy

Do you have experience in supporting teaching and learning in Key Stage 2? Are you an enthusiastic and compassionate individual who can show initiative and enjoys working with children in a primary school? We are seeking to appoint a part time Teaching Assistant to work during the morning sessions with two well-behaved and motivated Year 6 children who have additional learning needs. This post is linked to High Needs Funding and is therefore temporary whilst the school is in receipt of this additional funding.

We are looking for the right person who will:

  • Work in partnership with our Year 6 class teachers and the SENCO to support personalised learning activities in English and Maths at a Year 2/3 level
  • Deliver high quality personalised interventions to enable children to make accelerated progress in Reading, Writing and Maths
  • Be organised, flexible and willing to use initiative in order to meet children’s needs
  • Have a positive outlook; be vibrant, with a good sense of humour and high expectations of our children.

We are looking for candidates who can support the positive caring ethos of our school and who have the qualifications, experience and willingness to form and sustain positive relationships with children and staff, and be flexible in their approach to meet our children’s needs.

Hours: Monday to Friday 9.15 - 12.15.

Start date: January 2018 or sooner if the successful candidate is available.

Candidates should have the minimum qualifications of 5 GCSEs A-C including English and Maths, and/ or NVQ Level 3 or above. Candidates must have experience of supporting children in English and Maths in a primary school setting.
