A Finance Assistant is required to join our well-established team; initially for a fixed period of 7 months starting in January 2018.  We are seeking someone with excellent standards of literacy, numeracy, verbal and ICT skills with a can do approach.  In particular applications would be welcomed from candidates who have an excellent understanding of financial procedures preferably within a school and who have previous experience of working in a financial role and using systems such as Excel. Experience with FMS6 would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided. 

The position will involve reporting to the Finance Manager, providing financial support, working to the schools financial policies and procedures in order to support the school in achieving value for money and involve the following key aspects of the role:  

  • processing day to day finance including orders and invoices
  • reconciliation of monthly credit card statement

  • processing on line bank payments

  • monthly VAT return
  • charges to department budgets for photocopying/printing costs
  • assisting with day to day facilities management for the school

This post is for 27.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus staff development days), and is offered on Kent Range 5: £17,827-£19,608 per annum pro rata (Actual £11,994 - £13,321). Hours of work are 9.00am - 2.30pm, Monday to Friday.
