Teacher - Tydeman Centre

Fixed-Term Contract

(January 2018– August 2018 with the possibility of the role becoming permanent)

MPS/UPS + SEN1 Allowance

 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative primary or secondary trained teacher to join a dedicated and supportive staff working in the Tydeman Centre within this mainstream secondary school.

The successful applicant will be required to teach one or more subjects to small classes of children with speech and language disorders, autistic spectrum disorders or dyslexia and to be responsible for the delivery of an individual tutorial programme designed to address the special needs of a small tutor group. The ability to teach ASDAN and CoPE is essential.

The Tydeman Centre is a highly successful provision established in September 1990 to cater for children with language and communication difficulties. It draws children from across Kent.  The Centre’s programmes, quality and impact of teaching, support staff and well-managed integration into the main school were rated outstanding by Ofsted (May 2015).

Information about the school

A mixed 11-19 co-educational High School of 1000 pupils serving the historic market town of West Malling and surrounding villages. The school is set in pleasant rural surroundings and has its own lake and extensive grounds. It was completely re-built in September 2007 and therefore has outstanding facilities.

West Malling is close to the county town of Maidstone and has excellent rail links to London and Ashford International (for the Continent).
