Information about the school

St. Anthony’s is a designated KCC special school for pupils with an EHCP with a main need of SEMH and/or ASC in KS2 -KS4. We are a partner school in Kent Special Educational Needs Trust.

The school works to meet and support a wide range of barriers to learning. Our children and young people have high levels of social emotional issues and communication difficulties, staff need to be able to build positive relationships with them and provide a diverse and stimulating education, in a supportive and safe environment.

Most pupils come to the school with negative previous school experiences and traditionally from a background with high levels of deprivation. To achieve positive outcomes for our pupils we place a great deal of emphasis on individual programmes within small group settings. Past OfSTED reports, parental feedback and other professionals agree that we are very successful with our pupils; our skills in building positive relationships with children and young people helps us reinforce this message.
