Job Description

Woodwind (Flute, Saxophone, Clarinet and Recorder) Instructor required for October 2017 for approx. 1 day per week.

Music plays an important role in the lives of many of children at River Primary School. Around 160 children currently learn an instrument and we have 4 school ensembles ranging from Rock School to String Orchestra. Our children are active in school recitals and concerts and in the local and regional community.

We seek another instructor to join our expanding team to accommodate demand for tuition in Flute, Recorder, Saxophone and Clarinet.

Requirements: • Music Degree or Professional Music Diploma • experience in teaching instruments to children • recent success of your pupils in graded music exams • good communication skills with pupils, parents and colleagues • enthusiasm about the positive impact of music • good organisation and the ability to manage timetables and administration associated with instrumental teaching • commitment to weekly ensembles/music groups, and annual school events

Exact working hours are according to demand, but we have around 1 day of teaching available at present. Currently, pay is fixed at £28p/h. Further information is available from Sarah Danican at sdanican@river.kent.sch.uk
