Do you enjoy the thrill of helping children learn within a fun and caring team?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented class teacher to work in our Y3/4 to cover maternity leave from January 2018. This post is suitable for either an NQT or an experienced teacher and is for three days a week (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday).

Are you:

  • passionate about securing positive outcomes for children?
  • highly motivated, organised and flexible in the way you work to best meet children's needs?
  • an effective communicator, highly skilled in building positive relationships with children, parents and professionals?

Then you sound like the perfect addition to our friendly team!

We can offer you a friendly village school in beautiful surroundings with children who are delightful, warm and who behave extremely well. We believe strongly in developing all members of our team through CPD and we work closely with schools within the Tenterden Rural Alliance. We also have excellent relationships with our parents and extra- curricular opportunities are important to our children. We can offer you a biscuit barrel that is full (most of the time!), support and children who are caring, friendly and learn well.

Interested? Visits to the school are essential as it gives you the chance to meet the most important people – the children.

Please call the school office to make an appointment to see either the Headteacher (Sharon Lewis), Assistant Headteacher (Helen Tester) or Liz Deverell (SENCO). We are looking forward to meeting you!

Information about the school:

We are a small school with a big heart! Our school is within an idyllic setting with a large playing field, surrounding fields, a very full library, large open spaces and children who strive to be the very best.

We take safeguarding our children extremely seriously and so applicants to this role will be subject to the usual rigorous DBS and reference checks.

Information about the school

We are a small one form entry school set in a thriving rural village in the Low Weald of Kent. We have a fantastic and committed team of teachers, TAs and support staff who make coming to school a pleasure, whether you are a pupil, a teacher, a parent or a visitor.

As well as an excellent academic education, we try to provide our children with an all-round experience. This includes wrap-around care from 8am – 5.30pm, utilising a local Sports Coach who provides a different sports activity each day.

We are an active member of the Tenterden Rural Alliance (TRA) which gives us access to training, support and cooperation with twelve of our neighbouring schools, including the local secondary. The TRA has helped us to develop and improve all aspects of school life and will be ready and able to support you as head.

We work hard to forge links with the local community and our proximity to the church affords us opportunities to hold concerts, plays and productions as well as nurturing the spiritual growth of all within the School community.

In January 2018, Ofsted rated us as Good. We are very proud of our school and are passionate to improve outcomes for all our children, whatever their individual circumstances.
