We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated class teacher to join our friendly team, on a temporary contract to cover maternity leave in a Year 3 class, starting January 2018.

SJS is a two form entry junior school; with a strong ethos based on our core values. We have a positive outlook, a passion for learning and a rich creative environment. We have high expectations of all our children. Ofsted graded us as Outstanding in June 2016.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have high expectations of yourself and your pupils.
  • Have a keen interest I creative and innovative approaches.

An interest in Computing would be welcomed, but not essential.

Information about the school

Sandwich Junior is a two form entry school, who currently have 222 pupils on roll. We are fortunate to have extensive grounds, which include two large playgrounds, a gardening area, outdoor music equipment, an Orchard and a full size Labyrinth to aid mindfulness and reflection. The school has a strong set of Core Values which underpin everything we do. Our location in the centre of Sandwich, Kent means we serve families from the town and the wider area. We received an Outstanding grading in our most recent Ofsted inspection (May 2022). We have a friendly, dedicated staff who work seamlessly together as a team, ensuring every child reaches their own personal excellence through a focus on quality first teaching and pastoral support.
