We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Head who has the enthusiasm, dedication and a proven track record of delivering high quality education and care for pupils. We need an outstanding practitioner who is looking for a proactive leadership role within our successful community school.

You will work alongside our new Headteacher to drive further improvement throughout the school on our journey to become outstanding. You will need to be someone who will:

¨ promote our aims and vision

¨ have consistently high expectations

¨ be an outstanding, inclusive teacher who keeps our children at the heart of all that is done in school

¨ assist in raising the quality of teaching and learning across the school be able to plan strategically

¨ be committed to working together in partnership with all those involved in the life of the school

¨ an opportunity to extend leadership & management skills alongside the experienced Headteacher

¨ a committed and motivated staff team supported by an effective Governing Body

 

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WOULD BE TO: Lead Year 3 and to meet the school’s expectations of high quality teaching and assessment, keeping to deadlines where given.

Information about the school

Riverview Junior School is a very popular four form entry Key Stage 2 school on a large site we share with the Infant School.

Our extensive site offers lots of opportunities for outdoor learning, including an outdoor library, two football pitches, MUGA, outdoor intervention area, animal farm and forest school, and we offer large well-resourced classrooms.

We are delighted to announce that our recent Ofsted inspection, carried out in February 2022, graded the school’s overall effectiveness as ‘Good’ with ‘Behaviour Attitudes’, ‘Personal Development and Leadership Management’ all being graded as Outstanding;.

We are now part of The Golden Thread Alliance and we work closely with the other schools in the trust.

The Golden Thread Alliance consists of nine schools: Culverstone Green Primary School, Fleetdown Primary Academy, Meopham Community Academy, Oakfield Primary Academy, Riverview Infant School, Riverview Junior School, Temple Hill Primary Academy, West Hill Primary Academy and Wrotham Road Primary School.
