We are seeking to appoint a Learning Engagement Officer for 35 hours per week, 38 weeks per year which is term time only.

At Northfleet School for Girls we are very proud of the behaviour of our students and this is partly due to supportive structures which enable students to meet high expectations. In this role you will work closely with teachers to respond to situations where students are not behaving as expected, removing from lesson as appropriate and supporting the student to improve. The role will be highly rewarding, ensuring a calm environment across the school with the reward of seeing students improve their engagement with learning.

We are committed to offering a full and varied curriculum balanced with a care and determination to ensure students not only succeed but enjoy their time at school.

The appointment is subject to satisfactory references, medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check.

Kent County Council and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Information about the school

“I love my job and the staff and students here create a safe haven and a home atmosphere.” Staff survey 2023

Our vision is that all students should "dream big and achieve" through the following:

  • High expectations in all aspects of school life including uniform, attendance, behaviour and academic achievement
  • Working together through truly valuing positive working relationships with staff, students and parents
  • Enjoying the journey, we strongly believe that all involved in our community can enjoy being at our school and create lasting positive memories.

We are at a very exciting stage of our journey to outstanding through realising the following:

  • Very strong academic achievement, significantly above Kent similar school averages
  • Continued oversubscription at both Year 7 and Year 12 (waiting lists Year 7 and Sixth Form entry)
  • A key emphasis that we are not an exam factory, we seek to develop the whole person with equal importance to academic performance
  • Valuing and developing our committed staff team through wellbeing support and further career opportunities
  • A strong financial position allowing us to invest for the future

Further quotes from our 2023 staff survey include;
