Goldwyn School (Folkestone) is seeking to appoint an innovative and passionate Teacher capable of teaching core subjects across KS3 & 4 to students with complex SEMH needs.

This post offers a unique opportunity to make a difference to students who are likely to have experienced little previous success within a school environment.  Goldwyn Students are of mixed and high ability (NC level 3-4 on entry) and as such are capable of achieving GCSE and other Level 2 qualifications in Year 11.

Essential aspects of the role will be the ongoing development of the KS3 and KS4 integrated nurture curriculum and  experience of assessment of Social and Emotional development of students. This unique opportunity also incorporates the further development of Goldwyn Sixth form College and the opportunity to contribute towards the 6th form curriculum.  An experience of or interest in teaching Life-skills, Employability skills would be most suitable.

Goldwyn School is looking for a professional with suitable experience, expertise, drive and passion to be a part of a new team working together within an exciting new development at Goldwyn’s Folkestone site.

Be able to deliver literacy, numeracy and Science to KS3 & 4.

Be experienced in delivering accredited courses from Entry level 3 to GCSE.

Have an understanding of Nurture Principles within the classroom.

Demonstrate a commitment to their own professional development by keeping up to date with new initiatives and their use within curriculum design and subject delivery.

Goldwyn is an outstanding and unique secondary (11-18) SEMH special school in Kent, operating over 4 sites in Ashford and Folkestone, with each site running its own distinctive educational pathway.

We are a highly regarded and successful school which has expanded its provision to meet the needs of our increasingly complex and vulnerable students.

Goldwyn School is a KCC Foundation Special School for children and young people with an EHCP for SEMH needs from age 11 to 18. Students who are admitted to the school have complex and wide ranging difficulties and come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds and a wide geographical area.
