We are seeking to appoint a reliable, well motivated,  practical and cheerful Caretaker (Special Responsibilities) who uses their own initiative and is also able to work as part of a team. 

This is a permanent position reporting to the School Business Manager. The hours of work are 9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday term time only although there will be a need to undertake additional hours to cover annual leave and sickness.

Duties will include general maintenance and housekeeping duties and in addition, specifically:-

  • Undertake Health and Safety and Fire Risk Assessments
  • Weekly testing of fire alarm systems
  • Maintenance of, and responsibility for auto doors and all mechanisms
  • Operation and maintenance (driving) of the school mini buses and other vehicles

Previous experience of working as a handy person is preferred. The ideal candidate will be competent in general maintenance and repairs and have  a full driving licence (including D1).
