Northfleet Community Farm Supervisor

  • Are you interested in community farming?
  • Do you have an interest in vegetable growing and animal care?

Northfleet Community Farm are seeking to employ a farm supervisor to care for our animals and crops outside of school hours. It is a casual contract with hours to be agreed with the successful candidate. Duties will include plant watering and general weeding/maintenance as well as animal feeding/basic care at weekends and in the school holidays. We are an expanding provision covering the following:

  • Farm classroom with animal care facilities
  • Large polytunnel
  • Extensive planting areas including raised beds
  • Orchard and grazing areas
  • Chickens
  • Guinea pigs
  • Degus

In addition to the above there is funding and plans to introduce ducks, sheep, goats and additional small animals such as rabbits and a bearded dragon. Northfleet Community Farm works closely with a range of community partners including Kasbah and Ifield School.

Experience of working in this area will be an advantage, however basic training can be given.

Rate of pay in line with the national minimum wage but a possible enhancement is available for a suitable candidate.       

The appointment is subject to satisfactory references, medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check.
