We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our outstanding team. We currently have a position for a qualified TA to work in our Key Stage 2 classes. This is a term time, fixed term position from September 2017 that could be made permanent for the right candidate. The working hours will be between 9:00- 15:00 Monday to Friday. We are a lively and vibrant staff and are looking for someone to join our driven and talented team. You should have a very good standard of English and Maths and be able to communicate effectively with children and adults, have a flexible attitude and good sense of humour and be friendly and approachable. Good time management and the ability to work with your own initiative are essential.

Experience with working with Key Stage 2 children is essential. Responsibilities may include:

  • Teaching groups of children and individuals and helping them in achieving the lesson learning intentions in English, Maths and across all areas of the curriculum.
  • Feeding back to the class teacher, keeping records of progress and behaviour.
  • Working with the Year Groups to support any social, emotional, behavioural or medical needs.
  • Planning (with guidance from the teacher) and teaching small groups and individual children in Maths and English booster groups
  • Communicating with parents.
  • Preparing resources and some administrative work.
  • Displaying children's work creatively.

It is desirable but not essential that applicants hold a relevant teaching assistant qualification or be on the pathway to completing a similar qualification.
