Teaching Assistant - Part-time - 2 Days per Week (FTE 0.4)

Speldhurst Church of England Primary School is looking to appoint an energetic and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who has the ability to inspire, motivate and support our well-motivated pupils.

Speldhurst is an Outstanding school and this is a great opportunity to join our happy and motivated team. The school has a strong Christian ethos and is at the heart of the Speldhurst community.

We are looking for someone with classroom experience who enjoys working with children. The post is term-time only, 2 Days per Week (Monday and Tuesday). A TA qualification and experience in running interventions, would be an advantage. Strong literacy and numeracy skills are essential.

The ideal candidate will be a well organised practitioner who is able to use their own initiative and also be able to work as part of a team. You will be flexible in your approach, completely reliable and always enthusiastic and positive.

Having a good working knowledge of the National Curriculum at KS1 and KS2 would be a great advantage. Empathy and an ability to establish good working relationships with staff, parents and pupils are essential.

Necessary Experience:

  • Good standard of education (GCSE English and Maths)
  • Strong ICT skills
  • The ability to take responsibility for small intervention groups and, on occasion, whole classes for short periods of time is required.

Desirable Experience:  

  • Previous experience as a TA
  • First Aid Qualification
  • Ability to run an after-school club
  • Artistic/display ability
