Lunch Time Playleader

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative person to join our Herne team.

The post is for one and a half hours per day (7.5 hours per week)

 

Job Purpose:

  • Facilitate interesting and enjoyable lunch time activity sessions
  • Plan and oversee a varied programme of play, games and activities
  • Lead and assist children in play, activities and games whilst encouraging good behaviour.
  • Supervise children’s Health, Safety and well being.
  • Understand and follow the school Child Protection Policy.
  • Set out and clear away play and games equipment.
  • Encourage children to take responsibility for looking after equipment.
  • Listen and respond to children’s ideas about play activities
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Work alongside the mid-day supervisor team and with the PE Co-ordinator.

 

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience of working with infant age children.
  • Knowledge of play based activities.
  • Able to manage behaviour in a positive way.
  • Some management skills and be able to give instructions.
  • Able to motivate children, use initiative and be flexible in approach.
  • Enthusiasm, be self-motivated and creative with a sense of fun.
