We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, friendly and committed Teaching Assistant to join our happy team.

The role will involve working directly with a Year 5 child both individually and within small groups, both in and outside the classroom. Good Math’s and Literacy skills are required and further training and support can be provided.

This would be a contract linked to a named child for the duration that the child is at SJS. – 26 hours pw TTO Kent Range 3 (£15,253 - £16,967 pro rata)

The ideal candidate should:

  • Have experience of working with children with Special Needs
  • Have a minimum of an NVQ2 qualification and or equivalent GCSE Maths and English at C+
  • Have good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Be keen to develop their skills and use their own initiative where appropriate
  • Have energy and determination to make a difference
  • Have commitment to raising standards and achievement for all pupils

Sandwich Junior School has recently been graded as an Outstanding school by OFSTED (June 2016), we are a two form entry Junior school, who currently have 238 pupils on roll. We are fortunate to have extensive grounds, which include two large playgrounds, an Orchard, a full size Labyrinth and a sun dial.
