The Wells Free School is seeking an outstanding classroom practitioner with aspirations to lead and motivate others in order to provide excellent teaching and genuinely purposeful learning.

The role will be to assist our newly appointed Headteacher (May 2017) and play a significant part in developing the highest aspirations for the children which are rooted in well-being, inquiring minds and a love of learning. The school believes that the highest standards of individual achievement are made possible through confident, happy and motivated children supported by great teaching and an exciting and flexible curriculum. As well as having designated school improvement responsibilities and being an exemplary role model, the successful candidate will have a 0.6 class teaching commitment. This will either be in a KS1 or KS2 class depending on the candidate’s experience to date.

The Wells Free School opened in September 2013 with just years R, 1 and 2. We have expanded each year and, in September 2016, we moved into our brand-new school building. We now have 210 pupils divided into 7 classes.

With a strong focus on child-led learning and a commitment to outdoor learning experiences, the school aims to promote excellence and wellbeing, ensuring that our pupils have a real understanding of their community, both locally and globally. The school was rated good by OFSTED in June 2019.
