We are seeking to appoint an inspirational member of staff who specialises in Dance to join our outstanding Performing Arts Department from September 2017. This is a remarkable opportunity for someone who is an enthusiastic, talented and passionate teacher. The successful candidate will be motivated and committed to working as part of a team, have strong, up-to-date subject knowledge and be dedicated to ensuring students in their care make exceptional progress.

 The Abbey School Performing Arts Department consistently achieves outstanding results and are focused on reaching, maintaining and exceeding the very highest standards to ensure students achieve excellent progress. The successful candidate will be able to teach Dance up to A’ Level, offer some Drama in the Lower School and contribute the extra-curricular programme.

The Abbey School is a mixed secondary school with a thriving population of over 1200 students. We believe that school should be a place where young people can discover and develop their own talents. The Abbey school recently celebrated some robust results, with 45% of students achieving Maths and English at 4+ (an improvement of 34% from 2017), and record A level results with 52% of grades at A-C. The Abbey school is rated GOOD for quality of education by Ofsted.

The school is situated in the historic market town of Faversham. We aim to provide the highest quality value-added education and excellent pastoral care for all students.
