St. Richard’s Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint an outstanding, innovative and highly motivated SENCO who wishes to work in our increasingly successful school that is at the heart of a supportive Catholic community.

We are an academy as part of the Kent Catholic Schools Partnership and were judged as a Good school by Ofsted in our most recent inspection.

Candidates will:

  • Be a team player with a proven record of inclusive teaching and be able to inspire our young learners, working with energy and enthusiasm.
  • Have excellent communication skills in order to effective; communicate with pupils, parents and other professionals.
  • Have a belief and determination that you can make a difference, and be committed to improving life chances for all children.
  • Have excellent organisation skills and be able to plan and present information in a clear and concise way.
  • Have up-to-date knowledge of the recent changes to legislation and hold or be willing to undertake the SENCO qualification.
  • Have experience of managing vulnerable groups including taking the lead on pupil premium/disadvantaged.
  • Have relevant experience and training to act as lead professional for safeguarding.

Information about the school

St Richard's Catholic Primary School is an Academy as part of Kent Catholic Schools Partnership. Our one form entry school is situated near to the town centre of Dover and is over-looked by Dover Castle. It has spacious grounds which include a field, playground, fire pit area, outdoor classroom and adventure playground.

Parents send their children to St Richard's because they want their children to be part of a faith community. Many, but not all are Catholic, and all children and their families are very welcome. It is very much a family academy and provides a caring atmosphere where all children are loved.

The academy is proud of all members of the community, especially the children. They are happy, loving and lively; always ready to welcome and full of fun. Staff are committed, ensuring that the children receive the best care and education. Governors work hard to support the school community, sharing their skills and monitoring all aspects of school life.
