We are looking for a full-time, committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years Team in September.  Although this will initially be a maternity cover position, we are part of the Village Academy comprising seven schools, so there is a strong possibility of other opportunities arising in the future.  At Milstead we can offer you supportive colleagues and delightful children with small class sizes (15 children in Reception class and an average of 28 in other classes).  We have a relaxed atmosphere and we are surrounded by orchards, horses and fields. 

You will be a positive person who loves working with children and helping them to achieve their full potential.  You will be calm, nurturing and able to communicate effectively with children and adults.   Good time management and the ability to work on your own initiative are essential.

As you will be working in an Early Years Foundation Stage classroom it would be desirable to have some experience with that age group.  You will have a minimum 'C' grade in English and maths (or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate that your maths and English will be of a high enough standard to support and extend children throughout the primary age range.  You will also be able to model good spoken English.  The hours will be 8.45 a.m. to 3.15 p.m, term time only.
