We are seeking an ambitious and energetic professional with experience of leading teams, monitoring teaching and learning, and with experience of successfully leading improvement and raising standards.  We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and innovative Deputy Head Teacher.

The successful candidate will join a forwarding thinking team and make significant contributions towards the school.

We will provide you with the perfect opportunity to play a significant role in the school with a strong team ethos, working with wonderful children who are eager to learn and take on new challenges.  The post will be an integral part of our senior leadership team, contributing to the significant strategic, long-term decisions for the school.

The role is class based and will involve a teaching commitment.

We are an oversubscribed one form entry primary school in Larkfield, Aylesford catering for pupils from Reception to Year 6. The school has recently been fully refurbished and has seven classrooms, a brand new computer suite, a library at the centre of the school, a Design and Technology/ music room and a spacious hall. We are fortunate to have an extensive playing field which is used for PE and games as well as a woodland crafts area for Forest School and outdoor learning.

The school has a reputation for high attainment and we are justly proud of this. We have a commitment to high academic standards whilst maintaining a rounded view of education where the needs of all learners are catered for.

We recognise that our staff (along side our children here) are our most important resource and are to be valued, supported and encouraged to develop personally and professionally within a learning and caring community. We have a genuine commitment to promoting and ensuring a good work / life balance for all our staff.

As part of our local collaboration, we work closely alongside other local primary schools. We also have strong links with Canterbury Christ Church University.

We have well behaved, hard working and polite children who are a real credit to their parents and the school. We have a very active School Council and Eco Club and offer a wide variety of lunchtime and after school clubs for a small school.
