We are looking to appoint a Office Administrator and Receptionist to join our strong team of dedicated staff at our successful and popular school.

The person appointed should be experienced, enthusiastic and hardworking. They will be the face of Aldington Primary School. They will ensure a welcoming, professional reception to all children, parents, carers, staff and visitors. They will have excellent customer service and communication skills.  The successful candidate will need to be positive, highly confidential with all matters, have a professional attitude, be well organised, highly flexible and have excellent inter-personal skills. They will be the first point of call for all visitors to the school office as well as for any incoming calls.

The person appointed will work within the school administration team in a very busy school office. They will provide administrative support for the Headteacher and teaching team. They will also be responsible for administration associated with school admissions, attendance and some data management.

The post is for Term-time plus 5 days. 21 hours a week - 8:30 - 4:00 x 3 days.

We wish to appoint someone who has:

  • Experience of working within an office environment, preferably a school setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A friendly, flexible and professional approach, particularly when multi-tasking under pressure.
  • A good working knowledge of office management systems, Microsoft Word/Excel/Google.
  • A working knowledge of SIMS is a significant advantage, although training and support will be provided to the suitable candidate.
  • A* - C in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent plus NVQ 3 in Office Administration.
  • The ability to prioritise workload to ensure office systems operate efficiently for the smooth running of the school.
  • You will be willing to support the caring ethos of our school, with an ability to work well with others as part of a team, whilst also using your own initiative.
  • You will have a positive approach to working with children and a commitment to our safe guarding procedures.

Aldington Primary School is a single form entry school located in the expanding village of Aldington. We have 190 pupils taught across 7 classes; providing a engaging, adventurous, learning journey for children between the ages of 4 and 11 years.

We have an excellent team of enthusiastic and dedicated teachers, support staff and governors. We work closely with our parents and community to provide quality education and exciting learning opportunities.

The school site is a picturesque one with many outdoor learning opportunities, including our own Forest School area. We also access many of the local areas of natural beauty to enhance our children’s learning.
