1:1 LSA (15 hours temporary one year in the first instance.) 

Due to the allocation of additional funding for 1:1 we have a vacancy for a Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a named child. 

The position is linked to the child and as such is temporary until such time that the child leaves the school, or that the funding ceases (there is currently at least one years funding.)

Ideally the candidate should have experience of:

  1. Working with children in a 1:1 capacity.
  2. Working with children with learning difficulties.
  3. Working within a primary setting.
  4. Knowledge of the primary curriculum.
  5. Liaising with classteacher and SENCO to deliver appropriate interventions.
  6. Differentiating work so that pupil/s can access the curriculum. 
  7. Liaising effectively with parents/ staff and other agencies.
  8. Delivering 1:1 sessions with a child.
  9. Maintaining accurate records.
  10. Attending interim reviews - in addition to pupil progress meetings and provision mapping reviews.

Desirable Qualities:

  1. Good organisation and record keeping.
  2. Patience and a good sense of humour.
  3. Ability to work as part of a team.

Sholden Church of England Primary School is a delightful small, church primary school located on the outskirts of Deal. We have 4 classes, 3 of which are mixed year groups and approximately 105 pupils on roll. We have wonderful, hard working and well behaved pupils, a dedicated team of professionals to lead them and a welcoming school community.
