This is an exciting opportunity to appoint an excellent practitioner to join the Extended Leadership team at a time of significant improvement and growth for the Academy.  The Academy has been rated Good in terms of Leadership, Behaviour and Personal Development and Post-16 provision and is now oversubscribed with 170 applications for 150 places in Year 7.  We are now looking for an individual with the capacity to lead our talented Mathematics and ICT team which includes a Lead Practitioner, and further develop teaching and learning across Mathematics and ICT  

You will have a key responsibility in raising and maintaining high aspirations and standards across the Academy from your area of the curriculum and will have a significant role in contributing to the Academy Extended Leadership, strategic improvement planning and whole Academy development. This role would be particularly appropriate for an aspirant Assistant or Vice Principal and we can offer excellent career development opportunities in conjunction with our sponsor Canterbury Christ Church University

Key aspects of your role will include:                           

  • Development and delivery of innovative, deep and well-resourced new curricula and schemes of work.
  • Team development and leadership
  • Strategic and operational improvement and development planning
  • Support ,and  delivery of subject professional development
  • Embedding and monitoring high quality, effective  creative and engaging teaching and learning across mathematics and ICT
  • Contributing to the whole school Teaching and Learning development group
  • Teaching and learning research into practice
  • use and develop existing data and QA systems to support improved practice 
  • managing change and developing new practices within the  teams  
  • ensuring learners’ aspirations are continuously challenged and raised
