    Information about the school

Peasmarsh CE Primary School is situated in the rural village of Peasmarsh, about four miles north-west of Rye. The present school was built by the Church in 1844, although there has been a school in the village since 1841. Our pupils mainly come from the village and its surrounding farms and hamlets.

    Number on roll: 90

The school comprises four classrooms, a large hall, music studio, art studio, library, group room, quiet room and administrative offices. We are very fortunate to have a large field, which is used to support learning across the curriculum. The field also includes an all-weather adventure course, sensory garden and enclosed pond area. There is a hard surfaced area of playground adjoining the school which contains benches, markings for chess and playground games and has wall games mounted on the surrounding fence.

Our mission statement was agreed and defined by the children. They voted to include text from Parable of the Good Samaritan, 'Love learning and love your neighbour as yourself'.

The ethos of the school has its foundation in Christian love, mutual respect and a love of learning. Good behaviour is celebrated and rewarded systematically with individual praise, house points and in celebration assembly. We have high expectations and the needs of children whose behaviour falls below expected standards are addressed through the school’s behaviour policy.
