Subject Pedagogy University Academy Leaders

Salary Level: £39K-£59K (Lead Practitioner Pay Scale)

Full Time: 32.5 hours per week

2 x roles - Science and Humanities

Start date: September 2017

A unique opportunity to further support and develop subject knowledge mastery in Science and the Humanities, the University and their sponsor Academy are seeking to appoint two subject experts who will further support the development, teaching and embedding of subject excellence in these two curriculum areas.

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate deep pedagogical subject knowledge, excellent teaching and learning and proven capacity for coaching and mentoring.

The University sponsored Academy is oversubscribed in the forthcoming Year 7 and growing rapidly. We are embarking on an ambitious and innovative programme of pedagogical and curriculum development, including the implementation of the IBCP at post 16.

We are looking for courageous leadership to support the development of standout teaching, through modelling of curriculum planning and delivery of innovative teaching methodologies.

The applicants will be supported through the University’s commitment to research informed practice and the applicants will be required to engage in a funded programme of research at the appropriate level to their current experience (Masters or Doctoral or Postdoctoral)

Those appointed to these posts will be required to support the delivery of ITT and CPD at both the University sponsor Academy and at the University, through our Undergraduate and Postgraduate Teacher development programmes.

Those appointed will be expected to split their time 60:40 between their Academy and University work. They will be line managed by the AVP Teaching and Learning at the Academy and mentored by a Senior Leader in the University.

Salary will be agreed at an appropriate level in band of £39K-£59K (Lead Practitioner Pay Scale)
