We are looking to appoint a temporary 1:1 Teaching Assistant. The position is to support children in Key Stage 2 with their learning, well-being & behaviour needs.

The contract would be for 20 hours a week (term time only), commencing as soon as possible until 31 March 2018.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Have relevant qualifications or experience to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or working towards this.
• Have particular experience of supporting children with significant SEN needs, in particular ASD and Type 1 Diabetes.
• Have experience in running interventions such as phonics, active listening, Letters and Sounds, Fizzy Hands, social skills and maths.
• Be able to keep pupils on task and to gain their focus and attention.
• Be able to differentiate when supporting learning.
• Be a good team player who enjoys multi-agency liaison.
• Be highly organised in record keeping, thoroughly maintaining & updating records.
• Be flexible and prepared to use their initiative.
• Be committed to their own professional development.
• Be someone who enjoys working with young children
• Be imaginative and creative, demonstrating in particular uses of kinaesthetic and visual learning aids.

Saltwood Play and Learning Centre is a registered charity with a team of up to 15 staff operating from the grounds of Saltwood School and offering childcare for nursery and school age children during term time.
