TEACHER OF MATHEMATICS - Full Time

We are seeking a dynamic, innovative and inspirational teacher of Mathematics to join our highly successful, selective school from September 2017.

This is reflected in our approach to teaching and learning and as a teacher of Mathematics the successful candidate will be central to continuing to instil this ethos in our students.

You must be passionate about your subject and have the drive to maintain our superb academic results in addition to developing a thriving extra-curricular programme.  This role is suitable for an experienced teacher or NQT.

Mathematics is taught in ability groups throughout Years 7-11.  At Key Stage 3 we build upon the numeracy skills acquired at Primary School and use our own schemes of work to develop strong problem-solving skills in all of our girls.  Girls in Key Stage 4 study the Edexcel GCSE course and have the opportunity to study IGCSE Further Pure Mathematics and the Edexcel Algebra Award. 

In the sixth form Mathematics is a popular subject with students following the Edexcel A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics courses.  As a department we pride ourselves on the support and extra-curricular opportunities that we provide to our students, and would warmly welcome a candidate with a willingness to involve themselves within these wider activities.

Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School is a highly respected selective Voluntary Controlled Girls’ Grammar School that places students’ academic success on a par with their wellbeing, creating a unique learning community where every individual matters. Students attending the school are aged between 11-18 years and the school has a student roll of about 1,300 students (with approx. 400 pupils in our mixed Sixth Form).
