We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced teaching assistant to join our dedicated team at St Michael's Church of England Infant School.

 To be successful you will need to

  • Be passionate about education and intrigued by learning
  • Have high expectations for all
  • Talk and listen actively to our children and develop their thinking through  skilled questioning
  • Be a good team player and want to establish close working staff and  parent relationships
  • Understand how learning is enhanced through innovative teaching.
  • have recent experience working in Foundation/KS1 as a teaching assistant
  • Have a relevant Level 3 qualification

The contract is for 5 mornings per week during term time and will include time to attend training days/twilight training sessions. The role is paid for 39 weeks plus 5 weeks holiday.

Information about the school

St Michael's Church of England Schools Federation, Maidstone is a Federation of St Michaels Infant and Junior Schools which are situated opposite each other on Douglas Road. Both schools are inclusive community schools with a strong Christian vision and ethos. The schools serve families from both West and South Maidstone. The Infant School has a current roll of 120 children aged 4-7 years, with children placed in four class groups. The school has been judged as Outstanding by Ofsted on the last 3 inspections, the latest of these being in 2014. The Junior School has capacity for 45 children per year group (180 total) aged 7-11years and was graded as Good by Ofsted in November 2023. The schools are Voluntary Controlled schools. Our children are happy and successful learners and we have highly skilled and enthusiastic staff at every level and a supportive Governing Body.
