Advert

Do you believe that all children have the right to an outstanding education and be taught by teachers that are able to motivate, inspire and enable all children to achieve at least their full potential?

Downs View Infant School is a three form entry school, which was graded Outstanding in June 2011. It has gone from strength to strength from this point, gaining Teaching School status in 2013. As members of the Ashford Teaching Alliance, with two Senior Leaders of Education and a Maths Mastery Specialist we share our outstanding practice whilst developing leaders and ensuring all children make accelerated progress in a stimulating environment.

We are outstanding but we are not perfect and we are always looking for new ways to be more creative in our teaching and learning whilst still maintaining our high standards. Our overall purpose is to ensure all children start and leave school happy, feeling confident and ready for their next steps.

We are a fantastic hard working team, who are full of enthusiasm and passion and strive for all children to be given the opportunity to achieve and be given the best future possible. You need to be an outstanding or aspiring outstanding teacher who wants to be supported to learn new innovative ways to enhance teaching and learning and develop professionally.

Does it sound like you could fit into this team and have the drive necessary to make a difference to children’s lives? Do you get excited watching children thrive? Then come and meet our passionate staff and delightful children and have a tour! Words cannot describe how positive the ethos and how stimulating the environment at Downs View is- you need to experience it to believe it!

We have a full time teaching vacancy for September 2017 which is initially temporary for one year.

Please read our application booklet for full details- we look forward to meeting you!

Information about the school

Downs View is a three-form entry purpose built Infant School on the outskirts of Ashford. We have 270 children in our school. We enjoy an excellent partnership with other local schools and settings, including Kennington C of E Academy. We have five Basic Skills Quality Mark awards, a Healthy School Award, Platinum Travel Plan, Active Sports Mark, Governor Mark and Arts Mark Gold. In October 2023 we were graded Good by Ofsted with Outstanding areas. We have a Forest School area and extensive grounds which we utilise to maximise learning. We are part of a very proactive CATs collaboration where we benefit from working in partnership with fifteen other local schools in Ashford. We have two Senior Leaders in Education and have benefited from having a Maths mastery specialist; they enrich the opportunities we offer for all children. They also utilise their expertise to support other schools and colleagues. We value play and child-initiated learning across our school which has resulted in high quality learning through play both inside and outside.
