Advert

The Howard School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher of ICT and Computing who is committed to excellence from September 2017.

This post would suit an experienced teacher or an NQT with good prospects for career development. The successful applicant would teach KS3 to KS5. The ability to deliver GCSE computing is highly desirable.

The ICT Department is a busy and cohesive department who work together to achieve the best for students and we are looking for a member of staff to play an active role in raising the profile of ICT and Computing. This supportive environment is reflected across the school.

As a school our academic results are outstanding. The Howard School is the only non-selective school in Medway, that has consecutively achieved an average of 60% plus 5 A* - C grades including English and Maths at GCSE, in the last three years. We remain one of the best performing non-selective schools in the South East.

We value our teachers and actively support their professional development. You will have access to on-going professional development including National College accredited courses. A level teaching may also be available for a suitable candidate. If you are looking to extend your experience or are in the early years of teaching and would be interested in joining our team, we would be delighted to hear from you.  We offer an extremely attractive and very competitive financial package.

We are a happy and ambitious school, excited about the future of education and determined to become ‘outstanding’. If you are an imaginative and energetic practitioner and want to make a difference to the life-chances of all the students in your care then this could be the post for you.

The Howard School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. References will be taken up for those candidates short-listed for interview. The successful candidate will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.

Visits to the school are welcomed. For an application pack please contact Sharon Teachen by telephone on 01634 265771 or email hr@thatrust.org.uk.

We reserve the right to alter our interview dates.

The Howard School is part of The Howard Academy Trust but retains its unique and individual character.

The Howard School was established in 1975 by amalgamating Rainham Boys Secondary School and Gillingham Boys Grammar School to form a bi-lateral school. A bi-lateral school is one where admission to the grammar school section is by 11 plus selection and admission to the high school section is non-selective.

The Howard Academy Trust is committed to enhancing the life chances of young people by improving their educational achievement. We strive for excellence and aim to bring about transformational change where necessary in schools. The Trust is truly inclusive and aims to establish the highest expectations for young people and all those who work with them.
