Vacancy: Temporary Teaching Assistant linked to an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP)

Salary: Kent Range 3

St Crispin’s CP Infant School is looking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant who has the ability to support, motivate and provide challenge for a pupil with special educational needs.

The role will start in a Year R class and continue through Key Stage 1 (depending on the EHCP continuing). The post is term time only for 25 hours per week.

We are looking for someone with proven ability in the education/childcare field who enjoys working with this age group. The ideal candidate will have high expectations for both achievement and behaviour, as well as the ability to work flexibly, with a positive ‘can do’ attitude and a sense of fun. Experience of working with children with special educational needs would be a distinct advantage.

Minimum qualifications:

  • level 2 NVQ in childcare/supporting teaching and learning (or equivalent)
  • GSCE A-C in English and in Maths
