An exciting opportunity has arisen within our fantastic primary school for an ambitious, qualified, experienced, committed and enthusiastic teacher to join our driven and talented team in the position of Deputy Headteacher with a class responsibility for our Year 5 and 6 groups.

We are a warm and friendly, high achieving primary school at the heart of the community with strong links to our local Church. It is expected that the successful candidate is an outstanding teacher, with energy, drive, ambition and many ideas and innovations to contribute and lead as well as having a sense of humour! It is expected the postholder will eventually move onto a Headship or a larger Deputy Headship having made a substantial impact in their time at our school.

  • has the ability to promote our Christian ethos

  • is enthusiastic, imaginative and forward thinking
  • has the ability to lead, inspire and motivate pupils and adults alike leading by example
  • is able to form positive relationships with children, staff, parents and governors to impact on whole school development
  • possesses excellent interpersonal, organisational and leadership skills
  • possesses experience in day to day management of a school, data management and raising attainment
  • has a proven success record of developing the quality of teaching and learning
  • has the personality to lead, coach and mentor staff to continually strive to achieve high levels of pupil attainment and achievement
  • is able to lead strategically and drive forward development and improvement
  • is committed to the role of the DHT whilst aiming for headshi

Fawkham CE Primary School is a small four class primary school with 97 children on roll is situated in a stunning rural environment, and is surrounded by its own extensive woodland and outdoor learning areas. Fawkham is housed in a modern building with excellent facilities. We enjoy support from our parents, the church and the community. Our children enjoy school, achieve high standards, and are happy and well-behaved. In 2018, the school received a Good Ofsted inspection grade and a Good SIAMS inspection grade in 2023.
