Information about the trust

Coastal Academies Trust is a multi academy trust of five schools in Thanet, King Ethelbert, Dane Court Grammar, Hartsdown, Royal Harbour and Cliftonville Primary. We operate as a partnership of equals and a team of Headteachers, taking collective responsibility for all students in the Trust and sharing practice and challenging each other constantly to improve outcomes for students. We are committed to Thanet because, as a deprived coastal region, it needs a relentless focus on improvement. We are also committed to remaining a small, local Trust and supporting the development of other MATs in the area, with whom we can collaborate.

We strongly believe in a school led, self-improving state education system and we are committed to working in partnership with local employers, other schools, the Local Education Authority, the Department of Education and any other potential partner to achieve this.

Coastal Academies Trust is an exciting place to work as we are always at the forefront of new initiatives, ideas and plans both locally and nationally. All our headteachers are driven and ambitious for our schools, our children and our Trust.
