We are a community school that Ofsted graded as ‘Good’ in our last inspection and that has a largely comprehensive intake. As we have our own sixth form, we offer curriculum across all three key stages. We are a wholly inclusive school and cater for the full ability range of the students in our locality, finding opportunities to develop the demographic that we serve. We benefit from having superb facilities across the school including such elements as a theatre, cinema, recording studio, sports arena and award winning learning resource centre.

Maths is central to the school’s commitment to ensuring high quality learning across the curriculum. We have excellent Maths facilities with all teachers sharing a dedicated teaching block with 8 classrooms solely for the use of the department. This includes laptops for students, all classrooms are fitted with an interactive whiteboard, we have our own photocopier and printer and there is even a department staff base with kettle, fridge, toaster and microwave where teachers and support staff gather at break and lunch. Herne Bay High School is a large hugely successful Single Academy Trust that serves the Herne Bay coastal area of North Kent. We have a comprehensive intake and are significantly oversubscribed in all year groups and in June 2022 Ofsted rated the school good with an Outstanding 6th form provision.
