St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School is looking to appoint a part-time Bursar and Personnel Administrator to manage and develop the financial, administrative and business aspects of the school.

 

The postholder will manage the school’s budgets and finance systems and undertake a diverse range of administration, premises management and personnel duties in order to contribute to the successful and smoothing running of the school by:

 

  • Ensuring the school makes the best possible use of resources available;
  • Managing financial procedures, monitoring and planning;
  • Oversee the strategic management of premises maintenance and effective risk management;
  • Administering personnel related matters.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • A sound understanding or experience of financial management;
  • A sound knowledge or a range of computer applications including SIMS and financial management systems;
  • Management of areas including Health and Safety and premises;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in partnership with all members of the school community;
  • Experience in managing people;
  • A high level of drive and motivation with the ability to motivate others;
  • A proactive, innovative approach to school business development;
  • Hold a relevant professional qualification or can demonstrate equivalent experience.

 

31 hours a week, worked over five days. Monday 8.30am to 5.00pm, Tuesday 8.30am to 12.30pm, Wednesday 8.30am to 5.00pm, Thursday 8.00am to 12.30pm and Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm (excluding a one hour lunch break on Monday, Wednesday and Friday). 41 weeks a year (excluding holiday entitlement) 39 weeks including INSET days and two additional weeks to be worked as agreed to take into account additional workload at year end and budget preparation.

It is not a requirement of the role to be Catholic but you should be willing to support the Catholic ethos of the school.
