Safeguarding Co-ordinator (Secondary Phase)

To start as soon as possible

Permanent Contract

Term time only (38 weeks plus 5 INSET days)

37 hours per week (to be worked between the hours of 8:30– 17:00)

Salary Academies Scale 7 £20,980 to £24,472 pro rata. This equates to £17,749 per annum.

Folkestone All Age Academy offers a state of the art learning environment for over 1800, 11-18 year olds. We value academic rigour, coupled with a unique form of pastoral care and guidance.

We are looking to expand our safeguarding team with the introduction of a new position as Safeguarding Co-ordinator.

The purpose of this role is to manage the communication between Specialist Children Services and Early Help along with managing daily safeguarding concerns that arise during the school day under the direction of the Designated Safeguarding Leads.

The successful candidate must have experience of liaising and working closely with Specialist Children Services and have excellent communication skills with both adults and children. It is imperative that the successful candidate has an extensive knowledge of safeguarding procedures and will be able to represent the Academy at statutory meetings regarding student’s welfare. This role will include delivery of staff training based on radicalisation, CSE, online safety and FGM agenda including any further developments of safeguarding priorities in schools.

Preferably the successful candidate will have experiences of working in a school setting or with young people and a background knowledge of SEND. Previous experience of working with a range of external agencies is desirable.
