We have an exciting opportunity for an Early Years' teaching assistant to join us in our recently opened pre-school and work alongside the Class Teacher and two assistants. The hours are negotiable (20 - 33.75 hrs per week, term time only, for children aged 2 to 4 years old.

 You will need a Level 2 or 3 Childcare Qualification, the ability to work within a team and although not essential, previous experience.

A passion for the outdoors would be desirable as we have excellent facilities in the school grounds and surrounding area and we are a Forest School. You should have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in order to provide quality feedback for our parents and carers on a daily basis.

 The main responsibility will be to provide a high quality of education and learning and ensuring that the children are receiving appropriate stimulation and support. Other responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring health, safety and wellbeing of the children at all times
  • Record keeping and being a Key Worker
  • Forming and promoting positive, caring and trusting relationships with the children and their families
  • To ensure professionalism and confidentiality at all times

Visits to the school are essential prior to applying for the role. Our Headteacher, Mrs Sarah Garrett, will give you a tour of the school and discuss the position in detail with you.
