Head of Sixth Form & Post 19

 

We wish to appoint a highly motivated, ambitious and dynamic Head of Sixth Form and Post 19 to join the Leadership Team of this Outstanding school.  The successful candidate will join an innovative and forward-thinking team and take a lead role in further developing the Ifield Sixth Form and Post 19 provision based at the Link (Learning at Ifield and North Kent College) Centre based at North Kent College, Gravesend.  This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the innovative development of a joint partnership between Ifield School and North Kent College in a newly created post.

 

We are looking to appoint an experienced professional who is able to take a strategic role and work with the Governing Body and Executive Headteacher to define a new provision for SEND in the North of the County.  This is an opportunity for an ambitious and creative practitioner with a proven track record of making a significant and positive impact in their current post in a senior leadership position within a school or further education setting.

 

The successful candidate will be an exceptional teacher with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for working with young people with SEND.  Candidates must be able to use their own initiative and be committed to working as part of an established and highly motivated team to provide stimulating and interesting learning opportunities for students with a range of profound, severe and complex learning needs.

 

The successful candidate will be a transformational leader who:

  • has excellent interpersonal and senior leadership skills, expertise and experience in SEND;
  • has enthusiasm for learning and a strong sense of how to secure school improvement with the passion and creativity to develop and sustain an outstanding provision;

Ifield is a Foundation District Special School for pupils with profound, severe and complex learning needs and communication and interaction difficulties from age four to nineteen. Ifield School has a dynamic and innovative staff who work closely with pupils to create an ethos of care, respect and success. Inclusion is one of our priorities and this is achieved through our outreach, resources and training centre, Ifield SMILE.

In November 2023, Ofsted judged Ifield as an outstanding school for the fourth consecutive time.
