KR5 Senior Teaching Assistant for Pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder

Are you experienced in working with children on the autistic spectrum? Do you enjoy a challenge? Ashford Oaks has the privilege of having a small Specialist Resourced Provision for ASD. We also have many delightful pupils with ASD throughout our mainstream school. Your role as a senior ASD TA will include:

  1. Actively supporting staff in Ashford Oaks as well as staff in schools across the Ashford District to ensure the successful inclusion of pupils with ASD in their mainstream school – by modelling good practice and providing them with training and outreach.
  2. Supporting pupils with ASD in school and leading interventions
  3. Collaborating with the ASD teacher and Pastoral Support Team to work with parents and carers of pupils with ASD to help them support their child in a holistic way

You will work as part of a team, under the direction of our ASD teacher.

The children of Ashford Oaks say:

"Ashford Oaks is looking for a TA! We would like a caring person who understands our needs. They should be friendly and fun, firm but fair. They must know their subjects so they can help us learn.”

“I would like our new TA to be nice and easy to talk to so that they can listen and help you when you have a problem”

“A good TA needs to inspire us!”

“They should always have a smile to brighten people’s mood".

As you can see, our children know what they want!

Their contribution is vital but so is yours which can make a real difference to the lives of our children, many of which come from a challenging area.

Our ethos is simple, ‘Love the children as your own.’
