HEAD OF YEAR required for April 2017
Full Time, Permanent Post. TLR allowance.

Dedicated non-contact time is built into the post to take account of the management responsibility.

We are looking for a highly effective classroom practitioner and manager to teach within Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 and hold responsibility as Head of Year. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and ambitious teacher to join our dedicated staff team. Join us in this role and you can expect full support from the school’s Senior Leadership Team and receive bespoke training to develop professionally. As Head of Year you will be responsible for overseeing planning, assessment, teaching and learning, target setting and meeting the pastoral needs of staff and pupils within the year group. The successful candidate will be:
• An inspiring and motivated teacher whose teaching and pupil learning should be of a good-outstanding standard
• Committed to excellence, inclusion and high expectations and able to drive improvements in standards of maths and phonics/SPAG within the year group
• Highly effective in the planning, delivery and evaluation of all lessons
• An effective organiser and manager with good interpersonal skills
• Able to foster and maintain a positive relationship with pupils, colleagues and parents
• Able to lead and raise standards within a curriculum area
• Able to challenge under performance using a constructive approach

All of our teachers are provided with a laptop and access to other necessary resources. In addition to PPA we provide additional non contact time for assessment and moderation.
