We are seeking to appoint a Site Manager who will work alongside staff in ensuring our two School premises are maintained to the highest standards. A background in general building trades and maintenance is ideal with the ability to work with care and attention to detail. We are seeking applicants who have a flexible approach to working hours in order to fit in with the ethos of our two schools.

The work involves general buildings maintenance, repairs, health and safety compliance checks, some cleaning tasks and the responsibility for the security of our two Schools. You will be a main Keyholder.

You will need to be someone who is self-motivated, enthusiastic, reliable, commited, takes pride in their work and can work autonomously. You will need to have a range of practical skills to offer including painting and decorating, minor plumbing, carpentry and general fixing and problem solving! You will also need to be able to drive the Federated School Minibus as and when required for mini school trips.

The hours of work are flexible but with a general working pattern of 7.00am - 11.00am and 3.00pm to 6.00pm. Working hours may be subject to variation and call-out at weekends and unsociable hours will be necessary from time to time. This is a 37hr a week/52 weeks a year contract. Although there may be a need for overtime at key times of the year and during planned projects.

Lower Halstow School and Newington CEP School are village Primary Schools for children aged 4-11.Lower Halstow currently have 158 pupils on roll and Newington currently have 180 pupils they both have close links with their village church and community.Both have spacious school grounds with games pitches.Both Schools offer a safe secure learning environment and are well equipped with resources,including IWBs,a wireless network and a bank of laptops or ICT Suite.Lower Halstow School moved into its present building in October 2005 and offers many modern facilities such as Community Sports Hall,ICT suite & a new Dining Hall.Our School is a well-resourced rural school, with fantastic facilities set in attractive grounds,with a welcoming family feel and inclusive ethos.We have supportive Governors and parents children are happy, polite and enthusiastic and are proud of their school.We are constantly striving to improve the opportunities for all and are looking for new ways to make learning fun,engaging and effective.There are currently 7 classes at each school.
