Teacher of Computing and Music

We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and creative individual who is a good team player to teach computing, music and some PSHE across the Secondary phase. The successful candidate will have a high level of emotional intelligence and resilience, a flexible approach to their work and an ability to embrace change. Previous experience working with children with special educational needs would be desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will be able to teach Computing to KS4 accreditation levels.

Elms School is a special day school for children with social, emotional and learning difficulties. Many of our pupils have ASD, ADHD or other difficulties such as attachment difficulties. The school has a mixed roll of 110 students between the ages of 5 and 16.
The school has been assessed as Outstanding following the last three consecutive Ofsted inspections. The most recent inspection report was published in May 2014. At Elms we combine academic success with a therapeutic, nurturing approach in order to best support the learning and emotional needs of our pupils.
